Formation of Capital Taiyo Life

Capital Taiyo Life Insurance (CTLI) is a joint venture between CTLI’s predecessor, Capital Life Insurance, and Taiyo Life Insurance. Capital Life Insurance was founded in 2013 and it is one of the very first private life insurance companies established in Myanmar; Taiyo Life Insurance is the one of the largest Life insurance companies in Japan with over 100 years of history; the two entities formed a Joint Venture, Capital Taiyo Life Insurance, in November 2019 to provide high-quality products and services to its customers.

As of June 2020, CTLI operates in 5 regions with a network 13 branches, covering Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing and Mon. CTLI is one of the fastest growing life insurance companies in Myanmar with a healthy balance sheet and a strong management team; CTLI’s increasing network of physical branches provides interactive customer experience in urban area by offering door-to-door sales and face-to-face engagement with customers to uplift the knowledge and awareness of insurance products and services. CTLI’s partnership with financial institutions, leveraging on the strong network of Capital Diamond Star group (CDSG), and digital presence open doors to serve customers better across different markets in both rural and urban areas.

We currently are working on multiple distribution channels as well as working with the Insurance Business Regulatory Board (IBRB) to develop new products for the market. We have established our offices in Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Monywa, Mawlamying , Pyay , Pathein and we plan to reach every state and division by 2020.
