Upon the announcement by Ministry of Planning and Finance Myanmar (MOPF) in January 2019, foreign life insurers with a life or composite representative office in Myanmar are allowed to form Joint Venture (JV) with local life insurers. Capital Life Insurance has submitted Expression of Interest (EOI) to form joint venture with Taiyo Life Insurance to carry out Life Insurance Business in Myanmar on April 25th 2019.
Taiyo Life Insurance opened the very first representative office in Yangon as a foreign life insurance company in April 2012. Taiyo Life Insurance is a strong company achieving 120th year anniversary in 2013. Since the establishment of the representative office in Yangon, Taiyo Life Insurance has carried out various activities to contribute the development of insurance industry in Myanmar.
Through the collaboration with Capital Life Insurance and Taiyo Life Insurance, we would like to make further efforts to raise the insurance awareness and provide insurance products and services for the financial securities of people in Myanmar. We will also contribute and develop Myanmar insurance sector further by providing better awareness for the public, better insurance products and services for the people of Myanmar.
